Heartfelt Thanks to an Amazing Partnership

Dear Stefan,

I would like to extend a sincere thank you and hope this message can be shared on News@Sure, as well as with our preferred suppliers, to recognise the incredible teamwork that took place over the past few days.

On Friday afternoon I received a call to assist a client who had been referred to me and urgently needed to get to St Thomas. She is a yacht crew member and is scheduled to sail with guests on 13 March. She had originally been booked to fly with Qatar Airways but was still stranded in South Africa.

Late on Friday evening I managed to secure a seat for her. After sending messages to the Sure Online team, Shoneeze kindly responded and assisted me at 20:30 with issuing the ticket. As I do not have issuing rights with United Airlines, her willingness to step in and help at that hour was truly appreciated.

On Sunday morning at 11:00 I received a distressed call from the client advising that her United Airlines flight had gone technical. She was unsure whether she should still travel from Durban to Johannesburg, as she did not know if the flight would operate.

I contacted United Airlines and spoke to Cherese, who advised that I should try to secure seats on British Airways, Lufthansa or Swiss, as the United flight had experienced a technical issue. She asked that if I managed to secure space on British Airways I should call her back so she could assist with reissuing the ticket.

After several hours of continuously checking for cancellations, I was finally able to secure a seat for the client on the 19:25 British Airways flight that same evening. Cherese immediately reissued the ticket for me. I then advised the client to proceed to the airport as quickly as possible and attempt to travel standby on an earlier flight, as all services were fully booked.

FlySafair were unfortunately unable to move her to an earlier flight but did assist by allocating her a seat near the front of the aircraft and arranging a Meet & Assist service on arrival in Johannesburg to help with her luggage and escort her to international departures.

Unfortunately, the reissued ticket number from United did not populate correctly in the British Airways system. While the client was standing in the check-in queue, British Airways cancelled the booking. Sylvia from British Airways immediately took my call and worked tirelessly to resolve the issue. Although it took longer than expected to correct the problem, by the time the booking was restored the flight had already closed.

Sylvia nevertheless assisted in placing my client on the standby list for the 22:00 departure while simultaneously liaising with London to try and secure confirmation. At 21:00 my client was issued a boarding pass to Heathrow, although she was still technically on standby for the onward connection to New York. Sylvia remained in contact with me until 22:00 to confirm that the client had now been confirmed to JFK, while they continued working to reroute her to Newark.

This morning Cherese from United Airlines called to say how pleased she was to see that the client had successfully boarded the British Airways flight the previous evening. That level of follow-up service is truly exceptional.

British Airways subsequently managed to place the client on the Newark flight this morning and contacted United Airlines in Heathrow to reissue the ticket. My client is now about to board her final flight.

Yesterday was an 11-hour ordeal for both my client and I, but thanks to the incredible assistance from the following individuals it had a positive outcome:
Shoneeze – Sure Online, for her willingness to assist with ticket issuance on Friday evening Cherese – United Airlines, for her constant availability on Sunday and her follow-up call this morning FlySafair team at Durban Airport – for allocating a front-row seat and arranging Meet & Assist support Sylvia – British Airways, for going above and beyond by taking multiple calls, liaising with London, keeping me informed as the flight closed, and confirming the onward connection

Without the dedication and professionalism of this remarkable group of people, my client would still be sitting in Johannesburg.

Please extend my heartfelt thanks to all involved.

A sucessful Golf Day

We are so pround of our Sure Golf Day here in George and need to share our photos of the Golf Day on the 19th October where we sponsored a 4-ball as well as the 17th Tee.

It was a successful, fun filled day, despite the wind!

We generously received sponsorship goodies from Beachcomber, Thompsons, Delta, Air France/KLM, Avis and TIC.  We made up a hamper with Beachcombers sponsorship and added a bottle of wine, biltong and chocolates andmade up a similar hamper from Sure Outeniqua Travel.  These were given out as prizes at the official prizegiving that night. The rest of the “giveaways” were handed to the golfers, as they came through, for nearest the pin and a few boobie prizes for landing in the water right in front of our stand.
