Client just back from Cherepovets, Russia, brought me this box of chocolates.
The description for these off a Russian online store is "Intellectuals are people too and they are pleased to receive as a gift not a pair of socks, but something more original. 'Zakon intellectual' is perfect for this purpose. The present is designed in the form of a can of sprats: an elongated box with a transparent top, size 19 x 9.5 x 2.5 cm. Inside the chocolate figures with praline filling in the shape of fish, wrapped in foil with the image of sprat fish."

Just had to share...
...the story, not the chocolates :)
I entered the Sure Travel City Lodge Quiz and was one of three winners.
I had to share our fun event today with you all. We could not hunt if we did not have the Easter spirit. Some staff made a plan and were creative.
Happy Easter to all

A very warm welcome to our newest member, World of Travel by Irshad Malek in Durban. We are delighted to have you on board.
I have done a quick comparison and the results is Fantastic – I used Anthea’s code to check the WIN site out and Voila WIN came out tops for the same room type on all 4 sites. Also checked out combinedhotels.com and they could not improve on the price. Clients will not be able to hold us to ransom saying they can get better prices on Bookings.com as we have a great tool. Thanks a mil.

Sure Voyager Travel is 35 Years old!! I started the Agency on 1 Sept 1983 and in the past 35 years have gone through many valleys but, with the support of my family, great staff, wonderfully loyal clients and very significantly, amazing colleagues, peers, my many Sure Member friends and very much so, Vanya, Odete, Geraldine and many other very special people we have been blessed to have at Sure over the years - Here I am at the top of one of the Mountains!!!
You ALL know that owning a Travel Agency is a really tough call and to not only survive what we weather along the way but to prosper financially and in spirit, takes a special sort of drive and passion. I know I stand amongst many of you who have this too…..it’s a challenging way to earn your crust – but I wouldn’t swap it for ANYTHING!!
Thank you all for your support and friendship over so many years – may we all continue to reinvent ourselves and support each other for many years to come. We Sure People are a wonderful clan and I adore what we have….
Lots of hugs and love – Janet Aldworth
A very big thank you to your wonderful team for all your valued assistance with our tender. Still waiting with baited breath!
Join us in celebrating Rhoma's 20th year with Sure Travel Rendezvous. What an amazing feat!
Rhoma started with SAA in Upington in 1978 then moved to the 'Big City' to American Express Travel Pretoria in 1980, became manager there in 1989 and then became American Express manager of Groups and Incentives in 1996. After a very short 7 month stint at Concorde Travel in 1997 she joined us on the 01st February 1998 and has just never left!! She tells me she is VERY happy at Sure Travel Rendezvous. Rhoma is the consummate professional without whose dedication we could NEVER survive. Her practical knowledge of the travel industry as well as various wordly destinations makes her extrodinarily popular with her very loyal regular and other clients year in and year out. She really loves her travel job dearly.
We look forward to the BIG celebration in 5 years time ........

Corporate referral and booking fraud is like the land of milk and honey for fraudsters. The kind of corporations most susceptible to this form of fraud are larger international corporations.
They’ll do their online research on a corporation, and pose as an executive, someone higher up in the corporation and then sometimes they’ll even make a phone call to the corporation trying to get a lower-level person to tell them which travel agency is their corporate agent. Then they dupe the employee, the corporation employee, into referring them to someone at the corporate travel agency. So at the agency it’s viewed as a referral, an inside referral . . .
Some of these guys, they’ll know to wait to get ahold of the after hours service. They’ll wait later in the day in order to specifically get to the after hours service because here’s fewer people to ask around if it’s a legit request.
Since the referral would be coming from a trusted corporate customer, it’s unlikely a travel agent would ever decline to do business with the fraudulent account.

I had a similar issue with this RED stamp. Applied in Cape Town in good time for departure on the 17th and after a very exasperating time between my client, our visa agency and myself his passport was shipped off to Johannesburg for emergency issue in the end at great extra cost! The passport eventually arrived back on the 16th - just in time. The RED stamp, signature and copies of ID etc are absolutely essential so tread carefully when applying for a Business visa. We live in very stressful times and communication not always the greatest, so please share your latest run-in's with all of us. Thank you......
Just to alert you to the fact that since the Chinese have farmed out the visa process they are becoming extremely difficult with the documents they require to issue a visa. The invitation letter has to now bear a red rubber stamp, and they also want a copy of the Chinese ID of the person signing the letter of invitation plus full passport details – full names, date of birth, date of issue and expiry. I thought I was losing my mind and my client not impressed…. Client leaving on the 17th so it now has to go to Pretoria for 24 hour service….
Just thought I’d mention that this could happen to any agent. We had a client travelling in business class on QR to NRT and he wanted to change some flights after departing RSA which we rapid repriced in Travelport. His original business class ticket gave him 65kgs baggage, but when we reissued it dropped the baggage allowance to 40kgs which caused us no end of trouble and emails and phone calls and after much adu QR helped and they had to pay for the extra 25kgs from their budget. We were told the system read that he was travelling from Japan which only has a 40kg baggage allowance evidently…
Just may be worthwhile alerting agents to check the baggage etc before hitting the button!!!
