Finally, a luxury cruise strictly for adults 18 years and over – one that’s not a bass-thumping, messy booze cruise!
Cruises International and Virgin Voyages have partnered to launch its "Adults By Design" maiden voyage from Miami in 2020. It promises to be the epitome of class: fine dining, exclusive holidays at sea and a “red carpet experience” for all its passengers.
Designed to feel more intimate and connected to the sea, 86 percent of all cabins will feature a sea terrace and 93 percent an ocean view, according to Virgin Voyages President and CEO, Tom McAlpin.
Sir Richard Branson – known for his innovation in the airline industry – recruited some of the world's leading design firms (including Tom Dixon’s Design Research Studio in London) and hopes to "redefine what people expect from a cruising holiday" with his USD$2.5 billion investment in a new fleet of Virgin ships.
The first ship will accommodate 2,700 guests with a crew of 1,150, and two more are on order from the Italian shipyard, Fincantieri.
