Map to track Covid-19 air travel for 220 countries goes live

The International Air Transport Association (Iata) has created a free and interactive map that provides up-to-date information on flight allowances and restrictions for 220 countries.

With countries making their own rules on incoming and outgoing flights during the Covid-19 pandemic, Iata is working with a team of 1 700 government sources to update the map ever 15 minutes.
“As the aviation industry prepares to safely restart, travellers will need to know which countries’ borders are open and what health restrictions exist,” Anish Chand, assistant director on Iata's Timatic Team, said.

Travel is opening up, with strict protocols

The map is colour-coded to show which destinations are unrestricted (pale blue), which have some restrictions (light blue) and which are totally restricted (dark blue). Click on the map and an information block pops up providing what’s required and who is eligible to travel to that destination.

Iceland is open for select travellers producing a Covid-19 negative test.

While every effort is made to ensure all information is current, Iata cautions that the map does not guarantee accuracy. Travellers are therefore strongly advised to only use the map as a guide and to make their own checks before planning travel, or to consult theirtravel agent for updated details prior to booking.
