Dreaming of Quidditch, chocolate frogs, or being sorted into Griffindor, Huffelpuff, Ravenclaw or Slytherin? Here's your chance to live out a spellbinding four-day adventure at the English fictional school of magic, Bothwell School of Witchcraft.
Located in East Sussex at a 15th century castle, the school opens its doors to magic enthusiasts every few months and promises a "live action magical experience", according to Lonely Planet. Set on 300 acres, the castle is renowned for its beautiful Elizabethan gardens and moat.
There are alchemy and falconry classes, spell making, and a house sorting ceremony. The event wraps up with a lavish ball and banquet in the main hall on the final night.
"The event runs much like a murder mystery," reads Bothwell School of Witchcraft's website. "You'll be given a role to play and a story will unfold around you where you have to interact with other characters. It's just just like being in a movie or video game!
"We'll provide the robes, so all you'll need is a wand and good humour. If you've never experienced anything like this before, don't worry. We cater for all backgrounds; you can get as much or as little involved as you like and we will have all you need to have a great time."
Bothwell School of Witchcraft welcomes its next cohort of students from 8 to 11 August 2019. There are various ticket packages available, but a standard ticket costs £565 (about R10,341), which covers three-nights accommodation, all meals, and robe and tie hire.
