A new report states South Africa’s passport ranks 54th in the world; valid for visa-free or visa-on-arrival status in 99 countries, down from 102 last year.
“The South African passport has dropped on the Henley Passport Index, due to a reduction in the number of visa-free or visa-on-arrival destinations that holders have access to,” reports eTWN.
Nevertheless, we’re still doing well when compared with other African nations. South Africa has the third-highest passport power on the continent, coming in after Seychelles and Mauritius respectively.
And as for the most powerful passports? Japan and Singapore share first place on the Index, with visa-free access to 189 countries.
