British Airways launches first direct Durban to London service

London and the United Kingdom are set to get even closer with the start of British Airways’ new direct service from Durban.

As of 30 October 2018, customers are able to visit Britain’s exciting capital and its amazing sights, culture and history, with three direct flights a week from Durban to London Heathrow Terminal 5.

The service is the only non-stop link between Durban and London, with flights operated by the airline’s newest fleet of aircraft, the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner:

Durban to London

Operates Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays

Departs 7h35
Arrives 17h45

London to Durban

Operates Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays

Departs 15h45
Arrives 5h45

British Airways also flies twice-daily from Johannesburg to Heathrow, and daily from Cape Town year-round.

During the South African summer season, flights increase to an additional four weekly flights from Johannesburg to Heathrow, a double daily from Cape Town to Heathrow plus three weekly flights to London Gatwick.

Designed to enhance customer wellbeing, the new fuel-efficient aircraft boasts smooth ride technology (which minimises the effects of turbulence and creates a more a comfortable trip). Lower pressurisation means cabin air is less dry, reducing the effects of jet lag.
